Higgidy spinach, feta & toasted pine nut pie

I had this pie last night with home-made deep-fried chips. I wasn't sure what to expect as the Higgidy pies are more like deep quiches than pies; the top is open. This was, however, delicious. The pie is quite fragile once cooked, so be careful as you transfer it from oven tray to plate, but this is a pie bursting with flavour. The crust is crusty and rich and the insides, whilst soft and perhaps not with sufficient texture, rewards with it's flavour.

It's not a cheap pie, compared either to, for example, a Quorn pie, or a meat filled pie. But this is a quality pie.

Sainsbury's Moroccan Style Sweet Potato Croquettes

I bought these ages ago from Sainsbury's and only just got around to trying them. Part of the reason for the delay, I think, is that it's not completely clear if these are a main or a side. In the end we opted for main, but still struggled a little with what to have on the side, after all these are quite carby.
Those concerns aside, these are delicious. They don't quite taste as well as the smell that comes from the oven as you cook them, but still a pleasant taste. They have a fairly good texture too; not too soft as a lot of things like this can be. They also retain their heat well. Overall one I'd recommend.

Greggs Bombay Potato Bake

Reasonably priced at £1.50 the Bombay Potato Bake from Greggs makes for a tasty vegetarian snack. It's filling and tasty. It's also spicy but not too spicy.
